Rocendo Profitos might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Cesaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rocendo Profitos ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rocendo Profitos in the 12th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Camilo Cesaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Cesaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sancho Artiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Mexico's Camilo Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocendo Profitos in the 16th minute of play. When Gabriel Motowski came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Motowski couldn't finish the play. When Pedro Otsando fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Pedro Otsando a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Otsando. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Sancho Artiz came free, but Camilo Cesaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tallia Plaza was a little too slow when Romulo Gelacio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. Tallia Plaza made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Rodolfo Pelayo sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romulo Gelacio got free with Tallia Plaza in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mexico's Camilo Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocendo Profitos in the 28th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Gabriel Motowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Tallia Plaza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tallia Plaza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Motowski's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Camilo Cesaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Pastrana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Mas in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Pastrana in the 43rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Camilo Cesaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sancho Artiz in the 45th minute of play. In the 45th minute Sancho Artiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Cesaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico were furious when Americo Hermon was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 54 minutes into the match, Rocendo Profitos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camilo Cesaro. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rocendo Profitos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Pakin Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rocendo Profitos in the 61st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Camilo Cesaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rey Feloaga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Camilo Cesaro made a huge save. Playo Gurruchaga's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Playo Gurruchaga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexico booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Playo Gurruchaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico made a substitution. Isai Murillo replaced Domingos Marz. After 69 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Playo Gurruchaga. Tallia Plaza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Otsando in the 71st minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Fulgencio Marin came free, but Tallia Plaza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tallia Plaza came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Fulgencio Marin. But to his dismay, Fulgencio Marin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. If Rocendo Profitos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Cesaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sancho Artiz in the 96th minute of the match. Mexico were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
