Why do aerial passes target opposite player?

It's ridiculous how my team plays using wing tactics. More than 80% of aerial passes target opposite player. It's not like they are innacurate, don't reach the target and opposite player manages to take the ball. They are very accurate and target opposite player from the very beginning and that player doesn't even need to move to take the ball. It looks like all my players have superb aerial passes skills but always want to pass the ball to the opposite.
I've set the tactic in which all of my attacking players are far from opposite's defenders on the field. The result was probably my worst match ever. My attacking players were never getting the ball. All aerial passes ened up under opposite players' legs despite the fact my players weren't even close to them at the time.
I've set another tactic in which all of my attacking players are close to the opposite's defenders on the field. It was much better match for me than the previous, because my attacking players were sometimes able to take the ball which was targetted to the opponent player, because they were close to them.

I think it should be the other way around. You should place your attacking players far from opposite defenders to get them some space to play the ball, not close to defenders, because your players always pass the ball accurately to the opposite. Mabye the problem would disappear if only my players have better aerial passing skills (they have poor indeed, because I bought all my players with a thought of playing short passes), but it looks really ridiculous how it works. It's really absurd. It's like I need to play defense in attack: put my players close to the opponent in order to try to collect the ball which is passed from my players to opponents.

Poor sim coding. The aerial pass either goes directly to your player, or the opposition, and pretty much nowhere inbetween
