Retired Players turned Coaches

Is there any benefit to converting a retired player to a coach? I mean, is there any difference between a player > coach and a coach of equal skill hired off the market? Given that it costs coins to convert, I assume there is some sort of return for that money. Thanks for the help!Is there any benefit to converting a retired player to a coach?
